In the 70's Graeme lived in Fort Rae,a small aboriginal community on the shore of Great Slave Lake in the N.W.T.The northern landscape took hold of his mind and his brush and he began to record his perspective of this rocky, lake filled land.He rarely paints with a specific spot in mind, but rather tries to capture the ambiance of the light and mood of the north.Best known for his watercolor landscapes,Graeme also paints in oil and acrylic and does not restrict himself to outdoor scenes. As an accomplished artist Graeme continually experiments with new perspectives.Swinging between realism, impressionism borrowed from the Group of Seven,Graeme manages to capture the intensity that the landscape demands.Graeme now resides in Nanaimo,B.C.
