"A Warm November" is something we all wish for in Saskatchewan. With David Langevin's fantastic paintings, we can all experience the warmth of the sunlight shining through the trees, shimmering reflections on water, and amazing sunsets. Come to the gallery and feel the 'forest' all around you. David is best known for his tree pictures but we may also be able to recognize some houses from the gallery neighbourhood as well.

Rolf Krohn and James Korpan, both well known Saskatoon artists, have combined their very different approaches to art to showcase the human face and body. Rolf Krohn has a fabulous collection of realistic paintings showcasing the human form. James Korpan's metal steel sculptures also show the human face and form but from a different perspective.

Jim Brager hails from Cmarose, Alberta. He paints the fields, rivers, coulees, and lakes that surround his hometown. As Jim once lived in Saskatoon, he often takes trips to Saskatchewan to paint areas that we can easily recognize. In the past he has painted many pictures in the North Battleford areas, including Redberry Lake, in the Medow Lake Provincial park, and along the Battle and North Saskatchewan Rivers.

Late in 2005, Myrna Harris decided to put away her tools and stop producing her felted wool pictures. Soon almost all of her pieces were snatched up by collectors. She has longed to return to her felted work and now she is back with a new show. Cindy Hoppe will show her beautiful wall hanging fabric paintings alongside her mother's felted works.

Dean Francis's love and understanding of the land, light, wildlife, and habitat of southwestern Saskatchewan, where he has lived all his life, are apparent in his work. Well known for his paintings of coulees, wildlife, river and prairie scenes with wondrous skies, Dean captures the rich array of colour and texture of the prairies.

Regardless of the season, Audrey is inspired by the beauty and power of nature. Growing up in small town Alberta, Audrey recognizes the emotion that is created by just viewing an everday, nothing out of the ordinary, country scene. She paints these scenes so others can enjoy these views year round and celebrate the simple prairie life.

Katerina is happiest when capturing the special innocence of children. Her stylized art is reminescent of Katerina's own optimistic character. She lives to paint hoping that in each painting someone may recognize themselves in their past or perhaps see their children enjoying the present.

For Eltje Degenhart, the Prairie and its colour and mood are an endless source of inspiration. His landscape is subtle and rich and when he paints, it is "colour, texture and space, not trees, grass and elevators". Eltje Degenhart loves to portray the many moods of the Saskatchewan landscape.

Within a few miles of Saskatoon, Geoff Wooller finds inspiration for his heavily textured, abstract landscapes. Riverbanks, prairie fields, and clumps of bushes and trees are recognizable forms among the beautifully coloured canvas paintings Geoff has become well known for.

Janis is fast becoming known for her figurative works. With an impressionistic flair, her paintings have an underlying feel of romance to them. This quality is protrayed not only in her people paintings but in the landscapes and stilllife that she paints as well.


Originally from Weyburn, janis now hails from the greater Vancouver area.

Inspired by the Group of Seven and their legendary portrayals of the Canadian landscape, Charlesworth travels extensively and captures the ever changing moods and rugged beauty in his spontaneous paintings of wilderness, fishing villages, or children playing.    Most recent, Charlesworth paintings have begun to take on a more abstract representation with wide swaths of clouds in deep rich colors that demand a broader brush stroke and sweeping movement.

Talented in various disciplines of art making, Myrna Harris is especially known for her own felt from raw wool and the use of recycled fabric pieces to illustrate the beauty of Saskatchewan. Within the last year, Myrna has taken this same idea and scaled it down to make wonderful wall hangings that display a smaller piece of the prairie landscape.

Chrystal bowls and vases, stainless steel pots, and ripe colourful fruit are all subjects that Sam Hamilton portays in his near photograph like drawings.  With the use of direct sunlight and shadows, Sam's drawings have a great variety of color shades through out the painting.

An avid canoeist and painter,  Rolf Krohn has combined two passions of his to create "Canoe Roots".  Northern Saskatchewan lake and water scenes will be the main focus to this show.  With the use of bright colours and a combination of acrylic and watercolour paintings, this show is not to be missed.
